Arclight Programs
International Affairs-Focused Education Abroad
Prepare your students for internationally focused careers through education abroad experiences that connect academic study with practitioners, institutions, and the real-world practice of international cooperation.
Arclight partners with colleges and universities to offer academically rigorous programs in Strasbourg, France, and other European centers of international cooperation. Designed for students pursuing careers in diplomacy, public policy, the Foreign Service, government, and related fields, our programs extend learning beyond the classroom through direct engagement with the institutions and professionals shaping today’s international landscape.
Academic Framework
Arclight programs are designed to integrate smoothly into existing university curricula while meeting the expectations of students, faculty, and study abroad offices.
- School of Record: University of Connecticut is the school of record. Participants receive a UConn transcript upon successful completion of the program.
- Academic Credit: Six U.S. credits across two courses per program
- Language of Instruction: English
- Program Format: Four weeks in Europe plus pre-departure and post-program coursework
- Capstone Experience: Applied policy paper integrating academic research, institutional engagement, and field experience
The capstone serves as the academic culmination of each program while providing students with a substantial writing sample suitable for graduate school applications, internships, and professionally focused portfolios.
Bringing Arclight to Your Institution
Arclight works with study abroad offices and academic leadership to establish partnerships that fit existing institutional processes.
During our initial conversations, we can discuss affiliation agreements, academic credit, school-of-record arrangements, advising, student support, implementation timelines, and the practical considerations involved in making Arclight programs available to your students.
